Mr Vegas, the online casino brand under the ownership of Videoslots, continues its expansion across Europe with the acquisition of a Sports Betting License from the Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA), Spelinspektionen. Established in 2020, Mr Vegas is poised to broaden its offerings in Sweden, catering to the preferences of sports enthusiasts and bettors.
The recently obtained license grants Mr Vegas the authorization to provide sports betting services to customers within the country for the next five years, marking the maximum duration permissible for such licenses in Sweden.
With a diverse array of online gambling options already in its arsenal, Mr Vegas aims to enrich its platform further by integrating sports betting functionalities. Known for its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and user-friendly interfaces, the brand pledges to deliver exceptional experiences to its clientele.
While maintaining its identity as a "casino-first brand," Mr Vegas endeavors to enhance the overall gaming experiences for its expanding customer base through the inclusion of sports betting features. This strategic move is anticipated to appeal not only to seasoned bettors but also to casual enthusiasts, promising engaging entertainment akin to the immersive iGaming experiences offered by the brand.
Ulle Skottling, Deputy CEO of Videoslots, expressed enthusiasm regarding Mr Vegas' latest milestone, emphasizing the brand's ambition and pragmatic approach toward sportsbook expansion. "We’re ambitious but realistic with our sportsbook goals. It’s a very competitive market and a complex product to develop in-house, so we’re pragmatic," Skottling stated, underscoring the brand's commitment to diversifying its offerings to meet the demands of its loyal player base.
The acquisition of the betting license follows Videoslots' confirmation in December of an extension to its casino license in Sweden, ensuring its continued operations in the market through 2028. Originally secured in 2019 following Sweden's legalization of iGaming and gambling, the license extension positions Videoslots for nearly a decade of operation in the country.
In response to the license extension, Skottling highlighted the company's adherence to business integrity and regulatory compliance, expressing gratitude for the SGA's acknowledgment and ongoing support. "We remain strong in business and compliance, and we welcome the SGA's recognition and ongoing confidence in our practices. The decision supports our plans for 2024," Skottling remarked, affirming Videoslots' commitment to sustained growth and excellence in the iGaming industry.
